lOCAL Club Rules
1. Hole #10: The drop zone for hole #10 shall be in front of the red tee box. The drop are for hole #12 can be the red tee box at the golfer's discretion. Otherwise, normal drop procedures apply.
2. Hole #5: If your ball enters the concrete drainage ditch that crosses the fairway and rolls to the end of the fairway you are allowed a free drop within one club length of where the ball first entered the ditch, no closer to the hole. – No Penalty.
3. Hole #3: If the foursome agrees that the ball entered the hazard on the left side of the fairway, even though no one actually saw the ball enter the hazard, determine and agree upon the approximate point where the ball entered the hazard. Drop the ball at the entry point and take one penalty stroke.
4. Hole #2: The the barranca is a hazard and the drop area can be at the red tee box if the left tee is used. Otherwise, normal drop procedures apply when teeing off the right tee box. The area beyond the fence behind the green is considered a hazard rather the out of bounds.
5. Hole #7: A shot, landing or entering the cart path, and subsequently rolling down the hill and into or across the drainage ditch, may be placed on the grass at the closest point of crossing the drainage ditch. No Penalty.
6. Ground Under Repair (GUR). If your ball comes to rest, WITHIN YOUR OWN FAIRWAY, AND, 2 of the other 3 players in your group agree that the area should have been marked as GUR, you may take relief and drop your ball no penalty. That drop being to the nearest point of relief, within one club length no closer to the hole.
7. Hazard Fences: The fences placed inside the water hazards at the Golf Club of California are for course protection from waterfowl. While these fences are seasonal and temporary, they do come into play on occasion. If a player’s ball lies outside the hazard and the player’s normal swing and/or stance is impeded by the fence, the player may take a free drop, no closer to the hole, without penalty. If a player’s ball lies within the hazard, the fence is considered a part of the hazard, the ball must be played as it lies, under the normal rules applying to a water hazard. The fence may not be removed or altered to assist in the playing of a shot. If a player chooses not to play the shot, they must take complete relief with a one stroke penalty, no nearer the hole.
8. Red Tees: If a player’s age is 75 or over, and the combination of the player’s age and index is equal to or greater than 100, the player may choose to play from the red tees. This rule is restricted to IVMGC members playing only in the Wednesday tournaments.
9. Gold Tees: If a player’s age is 65 or over, and the combination of the player’s age and index is equal to or greater than 90, the player may choose to play from the gold tees. This rule is restricted to IVMGC members playing only in the Wednesday tournaments.
NOTE: Any or all of these rules can be superceded at the date of the tournament depending on the course conditions or type of tournament.
